How do you feel before you click the link? Behing to doubt or wonder? Exactly, and while scientsts are cheering the federal judge's ruling ordering schools to remove subtle anit-science stickers, caution is the better position.
Why? Because the religious agenda is incideous and rapcious. The continual remolding and redressing of the Bible as science is testiment to a zealous insistance. What used to be the creation account, because creationism, became creation science, became "Intelligent Design Theory" (Doesn't that sound scientific!)
So, if I were the Georgia chapter of the Christian Coalition, I'd try a different tact. How about a sticker that reads, "Creationism is a theory, it is not YET a fact."
So now the students who don't crack a book can see the idea that there is a scientific theory of creation or inteligent design.
Ironically, reactionary thinkers and neo-cons who have a poor record on consdervation, recycle their arguments with the enthusiasm of an echo-gurella.
But some parents and religious conservatives decried the ruling as another in a string of what opponents call activist judges overruling the wishes of elected officials -- often on matters of religion.Activist judges?
"It's another example of how the bench is dictating to people what symbols they can display, if they can pray or not pray or if they can teach a particular subject," said Sadie Fields, head of the Georgia chapter of the Christian Coalition.
For now, I'll not get into the relationship between judicial restraint and judicial insight. However, I will point out simply that this is percisely what we have judges for... They are elected officials or are apointed by elected officials. There is already a method to "remove" an ineffective judge.
What I will focus on is this attitude as if things have gotten "bad" all of a "sudden" that the wiley liberal has found
Let's look to one of the most important activist judges related to this issue: Judge John T Raulston!
And when did this activist judge take action? 1925

"Activist judge" is just a little sound bite people can throw around to give an impression - often wrong.
I think it's interesting how the school board is not called "activist" for putting those stickers on the text books. That was definitely an activist move.
And maybe there should be stickers handed out in schools explaining the difference between the terms "hypothesis" & "theory" in SCIENCE, as opposed to the lay use of "theory" to mean "wild speculation", which has no relation to scientific terms.

In calling judge Raulston an activst judge, You have misapplied the term activist judge. An activist judge is one who acts contrary to legislative enactment and sets policy, usually on the premise that the Legislature has violated the people's constitution by acting as it has. Judge Raulston cannot accurately be called activist because he sided with the legislature not against it. He ruled the Butler Act constitutional.He condoned the act of the Legislature who are the representatives of the people elected to act for them whereas judges are to administer the law not make it.

You miss the point.
He was an activit because he did things such as Pray and Quote Scripture at his event.
In other words, you can't define what activism is so that you make being reactionary not actionary :)
Anway, the key here is not judges who focus on the objection to poor law, but the use of such lables anyway.
The focuse on the proper use of the lable seeks to give weight to something that is about as meaningless at this time as calling someone a Nazi.
